Make this year’s letter your most creative one yet
Is there anything more exciting than writing directly to Santa himself?
Nothing says Christmas is just around the corner than getting ready to post your wish list to the man himself. It’s never too early to start thinking about what you’re going to say so if you want to make your letter extra special this year, we’ve got a few tips to help yours stand out.
1. Start with a personalised greeting
As well as writing a cheerful “Dear Santa,” or even “Greetings from Ireland!” (or wherever you live), why not add something extra for him to remember you by. Eg. “Maria here from Co Offaly, writing this letter in my kitchen with my mum and our rescue dog, Mabel!”
2. Tell Santa about your year
Santa loves to hear what you’ve been up to! Maybe you learned to ride a bike, got a new sibling, or made a new friend. Sharing these proud moments makes your letter extra thoughtful.
3. Remember to say thank you
Santa works hard all year long to make sure you have a great Christmas. You can show your gratitude for the gifts he brought last year by telling him how much you used and enjoyed them. Even better if you shared them with your family and friends and made lots of fun memories!

4. Keep your wish list short
While it’s tempting to write down a huge list of toys and gadgets, try to keep your it short – two or three special things is perfect. That way Santa knows what matters most to you.
5. Add a little magic
Show Santa that you’re also able to spread Christmas cheer by making your letter sparkle! There are lots of things you can do to make your letter unique. You could attach paper snowflakes, do some cool art work or add glitter or stickers. Santa loves to see your creativity shine.
6. Ask after Mrs Claus and the Elves
Santa doesn’t work alone in the North Pole! Once you’re ready to wrap up your letter, make sure to ask after Mrs Claus and all the hardworking elves in his Workshop. Finish off by wishing him a safe flight with Rudolph and the gang on December 24th and you’re good to go.
All you have to do now is grab your paper, crayons, or pens, and get writing!
