Andrea Wickham Moriarty

About Me:

For many years I worked in overseas charity work and lived in lots of interesting countries. Now that I’m back in Ireland I work in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and I volunteer with Christmas FM in my spare time. I’m a huge Christmas fan and I can’t think of a better way to spend the run up to Christmas than in the studio with all of the other Christmas FM elves helping to spread Christmas cheer and raise funds for our great charity partners.

This is my second year involved in Christmas FM, having first been on air in 2017. I took a sabbatical in 2018 as my son was born at the end of November, and I don’t think bringing a newborn baby into studio would have been a good idea! I did manage to play Christmas FM for him non-stop that first month of his life, I’m sure he’ll grow up to be just as big a fan of Christmas, and Christmas FM, as I am.

Your role at Christmas FM:

Why Christmas FM:

I lived overseas for a number of years, in a few different countries across Africa and the Middle East. I used to listen to Christmas FM online to get me in the Christmas spirit when it 35 degrees outside and there wasn’t a Christmas tree in sight. I’m delighted to now be involved in Christmas FM so I can help to bring the magic of Christmas to all of Christmas FM’s listeners, wherever in the world they are!

My Favourite Christmas Song:

All I Want For Christmas is You – Mariah Carey

My Favourite Christmas Food:

My Mam’s Leftover Ham Sandwiches

My Favourite Christmas Movie:

A Muppet Christmas Carol

My Favourite Christmas Tradition:

Snuggling up on the couch watching TV after dinner on Christmas Day, with a full belly and a full heart

Where I’m From:

Navan, Co Meath. I’m a big Meath GAA fan, which can be tricky as I now live in Dublin!

My Elf Name is:
