Ann Marie Walsh

This is my second year as a Christmas FM elf.  I started in radio in my teens, in Radio Kilkenny where I presented an award-winning show. After graduating from the Rock School Ballyfermot, I ran gigs at Project Arts Centre, worked as a club DJ and with 2FM on festival OB’s and on the Fanning show. In Germany I worked on Expo 2000 and with ‘Madchester’ Tony Wilson on UK music industry conventions.

Now I’m a presenter/producer with 8Radio.com and I run Novatone Music Media, working with Irish & international artists on album launches & tours. I’ve managed radio PR campaigns for Fringe Festival, St Patricks Festival, Festival of World Cultures & more.  I work as a stage & event manager, a lecturer in music media colleges and I enjoy songwriting & recording.

Where i'm from
I'm originally from Co Kilkenny, daughter of a farmer who was also a big band musician and a mother who loved singing. I grew up surrounded by nature and music - two things I still love. I won the 'Best Regional Presenter' Award from Hot Press Magazine for my Radio Kilkenny music show. I have spoken as a music industry panellist at conferences and I enjoy teaching students, helping guide them as they start their careers.
