Dogs love Christmas music and THIS is their favourite festive song!

If you thought Christmas was all about children, think again. Your canine companion could be enjoying it just as much as they are!

We all love to listen to our favourite festive hits as we prepare for the Christmas holidays but did you know that your dogs are listening to them too?

And not only are they listening, they actually have a favourite song!

A recent survey of 1000 dog owners, conducted by the charity Guide Dogs, learned that when it comes to rockin’ around the Christmas tree, dogs like Wham!’s classic tune Last Christmas best.

George Michael’s perennial favourite topped the poll with with 10% of the votes, followed by Jingle Bells (9%) and All I Want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey (6%).

The survey discovered that 90% of dogs like music but it can have an array of effects, from making them more excited and enthusiastic to helping them sleep.

Apparently, they enjoy upbeat tracks more than slow, instrumental ones.

According to The Guardian, Dr Helen Whiteside, the chief scientific officer at Guide Dogs UK, said that music plays a key role in managing a dog’s stress levels which is important during Christmas when households are extra busy.

Other good holiday songs to play for them are Driving Home for Christmas by Chris Rea, It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas by Michael Bublé and A Wonderful Christmas Time by Paul McCartney.

Wow, these dogs have good taste….
