This Donation Day we raised €161,486 for some of Ireland’s biggest children’s charities.
Despite the cost of living crisis, people still dug deep, and it was the best Donation Day ever.
We had representatives on air all day from our charities and their direct stories of children who had previously benefited from their organisation really spoke to our listeners.
The twelve hour radiothon was manic, but from the start the donations were strong, we always felt our listeners were behind us.
By lunchtime, €75,000 had been raised for Barnardos, Barretstown, Make-A-Wish Ireland and The Community Foundation for Ireland through The Magic of Christmas initiative, and by the 7pm deadline this had grown to €161,486 – with the last half hour seeing a wild leap in donations.
