Monopoly has been given a festive facelift this year with the latest version themed around the iconic Christmas film, Elf.
The film stars Will Ferrell as Buddy the Elf but players can take on the persona of a number of characters from the 2003 movie.
And the best bit is – it’s all set in New York!
The houses have even been renamed ‘apartments’ while the hotels are called ‘skyscrapers’, in a nod to Buddy’s trip to the Big Apple.
The community chest cards have been recreated as Christmas Cheer, while the chance cards go by the title, Christmas Spirit.
The board game comes with six collectible tokens in the shape of key props from the film – Santa’s sleigh, a polar bear cub, a Jack-in-the-Box, a mail-room coffee mug, Santa’s bag and maple syrup.
Like other Monopoly games, it of course comes with two dice and a set of rules – no cheating the banker, lads!
It’s selling out all around the world but If you’re quick, you could be one of the lucky few who gets to fight over an Elf-themed Monopoly with your family on Christmas night.
(And if you feel the urge to yell at your fellow player, remember that the worst thing you can call someone is a ‘cotton-headed ninnymuggins’!!)
