Frequently Asked Questions

What is Christmas FM

What is Christmas FM? is a family of Christmas Radio Stations and Festive Content Publisher. We create and curate a unique mix of content centered around the Magic of Christmas and deliver it on the radio and digitally via our website, player, apps and social networks. We serve a worldwide community who want to connect to that Christmas feeling.

Who is the charity partner for 2020?

Each year Christmas FM partners with a charity who becomes our official charity partner for that year. We will announce the 2020 charity in the coming months.

What will be done with the money raised?

We’re aiming to raise over €250,000 and want to “press play” on over 850 days of life changing programmes at Barretstown, rebuilding the lives of seriously ill children. Christmas FM is aiming to raise funds which will go directly towards Barretstown’s mission of rebuilding the lives of seriously ill children and their families, through life-changing Therapeutic Programmes in a safe, fun and supported environment. The services provided to all of the children and families who attend Barretstown are entirely free of charge, so donations and fundraising efforts are vital for the charity to help more seriously ill children to experience the magic of Barretstown each year.

I want to read more about your presenters

Read all about our presenters here – subject to change and updates:

Can you read out my text at a specific time?

Due to the large volume of text messages we receive from listeners, we are unable to read out messages or dedications at specific times.  Our presenters do their best to read out text donation messages within a reasonable time period – but it is not guaranteed that your text will be read out due to the large volume of texts received.

Dedications and messages are only accepted via our donation text line.  Messages sent via social media, the website (unless outside of Republic of Ireland) or other forms of communication will not be considered.

I didn’t hear my text - can you play it again/ send me a copy of the presenter saying it on air?

Unfortunately we are not in a position to repeat messages or forward copies of messages to listeners.

I know someone who has a Christmas song you should play - how can they get played?

In Ireland, the FM signal where I live is weak/not working/intermittent

As Christmas FM broadcasts in certain parts of Ireland on the FM band, listeners may encounter loss of signal/weak signal as they travel or move from one local area to another.  Additionally, due to weather and environmental interference beyond our control (such as terrain/electrical interference), you may experience signal issues or loss in your area.

If you cannot pick us up on FM in your area then that means there is no coverage in your locality.  There are other ways of listening to Christmas FM if you encounter these difficulties – please follow this link for all the ways of listening:

Why do you only transmit on FM in certain parts of Ireland?

Christmas FM broadcasts on the FM band in Ireland in certain locations. This is dependent on several factors including budget and licencing limitations.
