Gerry Healy

About Me:

I have been on radio since the mid-eighties. My very first broadcast was done by using two record players and a mixer, from my bedroom (studio) through a speaker wired to the kitchen where Mum and Dad were my audience!  Later, I extended this to Carrick-on-Suir (my hometown) where I erected a PA system along the main street and ran ‘Christmas Downtown Radio’.  Throughout the 80’s and early 90’s, I ran a disco roadshow, presented on Suirside Radio in Waterford, KCR in Kilkenny and Centre Radio Clonmel.  In the early 90s I moved to Dublin, where I now live with my wife and family.  I moved from radio to TV and presented the Saturday morning quiz show on RTE ‘Physiquiz’.  From the late 90’s to 2007, I presented weather on TV3.  I continued my TV career on CBS TV in California.  My radio presenting continued too on Phoenix FM, All80s DAB Radio, The Rock and Radio Nova.  Since 2012, I’ve been presenting on Friday evenings on Spirit Radio.  I also do cover presenting with East Coast FM and Voice Overs for various radio stations.  I work full-time as a Training Consultant and I bring my love of broadcasting to my work where I include eLearning and training video production as part of my day-to-day job.
