During the festive season, there’s nothing nicer than seeing the supermarket aisles decked with tubs of Christmas chocolate a mile long!
Heroes, Quality Street, Roses, Milk Tray, Ferrero Rocher, Celebrations as far as the eye can see…it must be what it feels like walking into Willy Wonka’s factory.
But what would you say if someone asked you to pick your favourite chocolate? Which one really means Christmas to you?
Well, Aldi asked the tough question and the country responded. Apparently, Ireland’s number one choice of chocolate is Cadbury’s Roses!
The scrumptious sweets went on sale in 1938 and have never waned in popularity, winning 43% of the vote.
Second place went to Quality Street with Celebrations taking the bronze.
The survey also found that the most-fought over flavours are Fudge, Caramel and Orange while the ones that are usually left over are Coffee, Dark Chocolate, Strawberry Creme and Turkish Delight.
Do you agree?
