Christmas FM returns at midday 28th November to spread festive cheer across Ireland
- Third class in St. Saviour’s National School in Rathdrum, Co. Wicklow win competition to officially Switch Christmas FM On for 2024
- The hugely successful Magic of Christmas fundraising appeal returns this year to raise funds for charity partners Barnardos, Barretstown, Make-A-Wish Ireland and a range of children’s charities across Ireland making a difference in local communities
It’s FINALLY time to get into the festive swing as we are back on air at midday 28th November to brighten the festive season and Switch Christmas On across the island of Ireland for 2024.
Third class in St. Saviour’s National School in Rathdrum, Co. Wicklow are on hand to officially turn on Christmas FM for 2024. The class won a competition run by us to find a team of very special little helpers to officially Switch Christmas On for 2024.
The return of Christmas FM marks the start of the official Christmas countdown for many as we play round-the-clock Christmas hits, offering the perfect soundtrack for the festive season. Whether you’re decorating the tree, wrapping gifts or relaxing by the fire, tune into Christmas FM to celebrate the season with festive hits and a healthy dose of Christmas cheer!
Our listeners can look forward to hearing all of their festive favourites including Mariah Carey, Michael Bublé and WHAM! as well as newer Christmas hits to add to their Christmas party playlist. Meanwhile our presenters will be spreading lots of seasonal joy and fun, keeping the spirits of the nation merry and bright as we embark on the big countdown to Christmas Day.

We are celebrating our 17th year on air this year and we have raised over €3.5 million euro for a range of charities since we began broadcasting. We will be continuing with the hugely successful Magic of Christmas Appeal – raising funds for three of Ireland’s leading children’s charities – Barnardos, Barretstown, and Make-A-Wish Ireland, along with a range of children’s charities across Ireland making a difference in local communities through Community Foundation Ireland. The Magic of Christmas was launched in 2022, with the aim of raising €1,000,000 over a three-year period for the charities. The Magic of Christmas fundraising appeal raised almost €325,000 last year for the charities, with donations raised between 2022 and 2023 totalling €618,706 overall.

Our station is presented on air each year by a team of volunteers who devote hundreds of hours of their time assisted by a core management team. Meanwhile, the costs of running our station are covered by various sponsors, ensuring listener donations go directly to the fundraising initiative. This year the station’s premier FM sponsors are Coca Cola, An Post and Cadbury.
We broadcast from The Clayton Hotel, Liffey Valley who have kindly donated their studio space again this year.
