Competition Rules

Here are the rules of entry to competitions that we are running on-air and online. Please select the ‘+’ on any of the entries below to expand and read the rules pertaining to that competition.

On-Air Competition Rules

The following rules (“Specific Rules”) of Christmas Radio Ltd. apply to on-air competitions (the “Competition”) that run on Christmas FM (the “Radio Station”).

1. Anyone who enters the Competition (an “Entrant”) will be deemed to have read and accepted the Specific Rules and the Competition Terms and Conditions and will be bound by them.

Details of the Competition:
2. To enter the Competition an Entrant must follow the instructions given on air by the presenter, e.g.:

Send a text message starting with XMAS followed by a space with your name (and answer where applicable) to 50300 (the “Text Message Line”). Text messages will be charged at €2.00 per message. The opening and closing times of the competition will be given out on air OR

For One4All card competitions, the Entrant needs to send a text message to 50300 that starts with the word XMAS followed by a space and their message during the competition entry time specified by the presenter.

3. The winner will be picked at random and announced on air during the show.

4. Winners will be contacted via the mobile number used to enter the Competition.  If the winner does not reply to our message within 72 hours or within the timeframe given by us, they forfeit their claim on the prize. We reserve the right to select a new winner.

5. Winners may be required to talk to the presenters and a call will be recorded with the presenter/s and played on-air. There will be no fee or payment for this.

Eligibility:
Unless otherwise stated on-air by the presenter

6. You must be over 18 years of age to enter and resident in the Republic of Ireland.

7. Multiple entries are permitted but there will only be one prize awarded to any entrant.

Prizes:
8. The Prize details and method of entry will be given out on air by the presenter

9. Event tickets may be subject to venue restrictions. Photographic ID may be required. The winner acknowledges that in the event that the artist does not perform on the relevant date, or that the concert or event does not take place as specified for any reason, Christmas FM does not accept responsibility in these circumstances and no alternative prize will be provided. Travel and accommodation are not included.

10. One4All cards, have no cash value, and will not be replaced if lost or stolen. Valid only in the Republic of Ireland and in the retail outlets listed on the One4All website. One4All terms and conditions of use apply.

11. Prizes are non-transferable and there are no cash alternatives.

12. All prizes must be redeemed and delivery completed within 90-days of the Competition ending or by March 31st of the following year whichever is the earliest. Prizes that are not redeemed or delivered by that date will be forfeit.

13. The Entrant may be requested to identify themselves.

14. Delivery of prizes will either be by standard post or by courier or in some cases digitally. Delivery by courier may be during business hours 9-5pm, Monday to Friday only. 

15. The decision of the Radio Station is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

16. These terms and conditions shall be governed by Irish law and the Courts of the Republic of Ireland shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

18. The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel or amend the Promotion where it becomes necessary to do so.

The SPAR Christmas FM Song Contest

The SPAR CHRISTMAS FM SONG CONTEST (the “Promotion”) is open to entry (or other participation in) by individuals who reside on the island of Ireland (32 counties) only except for employees of the Promoter, their families, employees of any associated companies or agents, and anyone professionally involved with this Promotion. Entry into this Promotion shall be deemed to be a full and unconditional acceptance by the entrant of these Terms and Conditions.

Failure to adhere to these Terms and Conditions may result in disqualification from the Promotion and forfeiture of the Prize.

To enter, entrants

  1. Must have written part or all of an original Christmas themed song or perform a cover version of a Christmas song.
  2. Entries will only be accepted through the dedicated form on our website.
  3. Entrants must complete all sections of the application in order to enter the competition – incomplete applications will not be counted.
  4. All entries must be uploaded to Soundcloud, and be publicly accessible (not private).
  5. The entry must be of high production quality and suitable for radio airplay and in keeping with the station sound.
  6. Songs should be radio edits (suitable for general airplay).
  7. The entrant declares themselves as the rightful owner of the composition if it is an original piece of work. Where an entry is partially written or composed by the entrant then the entrant must have full permissions from all parties involved.
  8. The song contest is open for entry from Oct 31st 2024 at 11.00hrs.  The contest closes for entry on Nov 29th at 13.00hrs. Finalists will be announced on-air and public voting will take place on the website from 07.00hrs Sat 7th Dec to 18.00hrs Sun 8th Dec 2024.  The winner will be announced on the breakfast show on Monday 9th December 2024.  Dates, details and times subject to change.  Entry form, voting form and all details can be found here https://christmasfm.com/songcontest/
  9. The Promoter will determine the number of qualifying finalists from entries received and deemed valid by the promoter.  
  10. All entrants permit the use of the audio file and editing of the audio file by Christmas FM for use on-air, website, online and on social media activity around the song contest.
  11. The winner will be determined from the list of finalists and in part by a public online vote and a Christmas FM judging panel.
  12. Entrant declares that they own the copyright of the image provided through the entry form and further agrees at no cost to the promoter and their agents to the use of the image/likeness on PR by the promoters or their press, social media outlets, website, and any other outlets in relation to the promotion of this contest.
  13. Only one entry per person or group.
  14. The winner will be notified via the e-mail address and/or phone number provided on the entry form. If we do not receive a response within a set period of time as specified in the message, then an alternative finalist or winner may be chosen at the Promoter’s discretion.
  15. The prize is a SPAR gift card with a value of €500 redeemable at SPAR stores within the Republic of Ireland and subject to the issuers terms and conditions of use.
  16. Allocation of Prize is to an individual only and is non transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.  Proof of identity may be required.
  17. The winner’s name can be found by sending an SAE to our postal address as follows: Christmas FM, RadioHub Studios, Clayton Liffey Valley, Fonthill Rd, Dublin 22, D22 X4W6, Ireland and quoting ‘SPAR Christmas FM Song Contest Winner’.  No other correspondence will be entered into concerning the result and the Promoter’s decision is final.
  18. The winner may be required to participate in reasonable publicity including airplay of their composition.
  19. The Promoter reserves the right to withdraw or amend the Promotion, the times and dates of the promotion, the Prize, and/or these Terms & Conditions at any stage and in the event of any unforeseen circumstances without notice.
  20. The Promoter and their agents accept no responsibility for difficulties experienced in submitting an entry to the Promotion. The Promoter cannot be held responsible for a breakdown in communication systems or networks that might result in an entry not being registered or delivered.
  21. The Promoter reserves the right to exclude any entries which it believes to be fraudulent or based on misconduct. This includes any manipulation of public voting.
  22. Neither the Promoter nor any of its associated or affiliated companies shall be liable to any Participant for any cancellation, discontinuance or delay affecting this Promotion.
  23. The Promoter reserves the right to terminate, alter or temporarily suspend this Promotion in the event of technical or other difficulties that might compromise its integrity.
  24. In the event of unforeseen circumstances the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for an alternative of equal or greater value.
  25. The Promoter does not accept any liability for loss or damages incurred, or responsibility for any claim, as a result of the acceptance of the Prize. Specific Prize arrival dates cannot be guaranteed and will be subject to availability.
  26. Entrants’ personal data will only be held for the purposes of administrating the contest.
  27. The promoters’ decision is final and binding in all matters and no correspondence will be entered into.
  28. These terms and conditions shall be governed by Irish law and the Courts of the Republic of Ireland shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

The TALBOT COLLECTION Christmas FM Photo Contest

The TALBOT COLLECTION Christmas FM Photo Contest (the “Promotion”) is open to entry (or other participation in) by individuals aged 18 or over who reside in the Republic of Ireland only except for employees of Christmas FM (the “Promoter”) and the TALBOT COLLECTION (The “Supplier”), their families, employees of any associated companies or agents, and anyone professionally involved with this Promotion. Entry into this Promotion shall be deemed to be a full and unconditional acceptance by the entrant of these Terms and Conditions.

Failure to adhere to these Terms and Conditions may result in disqualification from the Promotion and forfeiture of the Prize.

To enter, entrants

  1. Must submit their own original photograph the theme of “the magic of Christmas”.
  2. Entries will only be accepted through the dedicated form on our website at https://christmasfm.com/photo/
  3. Entrants must complete all sections of the application form in order to enter the competition – incomplete applications will not be counted.
  4. Your entry must be image data captured with a device capable of taking still photos, such as a smartphone or digital still camera.
  5. Works that have been edited or processed using camera apps, editing apps, software, or the like are allowed.
  6. Images generated by AI are prohibited. However, AI-based editing of images taken by the entrant him or herself is allowed.
  7. Entrant declares that they own the copyright of the image provided through the entry form and further agrees at no cost to the promoter and their agents to the use of the image/likeness on PR by the promoters or their press, social media outlets, website, and any other outlets in relation to the promotion of this Promotion.
  8. The copyright and any equivalent rights to the submitted work will belong to the entrant however the promotors rights set out in (7) above will apply.
  9. The Entrant declares that they have the obtained the consent of any persons featured in the image prior to entry.
  10. The entrant must own the rights to any copyrighted material or likeness that is used in the submitted work or must have obtained prior consent to use them from the rights holder.
  11. The Entrant shall ensure that they have their own copy or backup of the image submitted.
  12. The promotion closes for entry on December 27th at 14.00hrs GMT and the winner will be announced on-air before 19:00 on December 27th, 2024.
  13. The one winner will be determined by a judging panel consisting of representatives of the Promoter.
  14. One entrant will be chosen at random from all valid entries and will receive the “entrant prize”.
  15. Only one entry per person. No entrant will receive more than one prize.
  16. The winner will be notified via the e-mail address and/or phone number provided on the entry form and announced on air.
  17. The prizes are as follows:
    1. Winner prize: a TALBOT COLLECTION gift card with a value of €300 and is subject to the issuers terms and conditions of use.
    2. Entrant prize: a TALBOT COLLECTION gift card with a value of €100 and is subject to the issuers terms and conditions of use.
  18. Allocation of Prize is to an individual only and is non transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or refunded.
  19. Proof of identity may be required to claim a prize.
  20.   23. The Promoter and their agents accept no responsibility for difficulties experienced in submitting an entry to the Promotion. The Promoter cannot be held responsible for a breakdown in communication systems or networks that might result in an entry not being registered or delivered.
  24. The Promoter reserves the right to exclude any entries which it believes to be fraudulent or based on misconduct or they deem inappropriate in any way.
  25. Neither the Promoter nor any of its associated or affiliated companies shall be liable to any Participant for any cancellation, discontinuance or delay affecting this Promotion.
  26. The Promoter reserves the right to terminate, alter or temporarily suspend this Promotion in the event of technical or other difficulties that might compromise its integrity.
  27. In the event of unforeseen circumstances the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for an alternative of equal or greater value.
  28. The Promoter does not accept any liability for loss or damages incurred, or responsibility for any claim, as a result of the acceptance of the Prize. Specific Prize arrival dates cannot be guaranteed and will be subject to availability.

Prize Bag and Social Media Competitions
  1. The promotion is open to residents of Ireland aged 18 years or over except employees of the Promoter, their families, agents or anyone professionally connected with the promotion.
  2. A valid entry consists of a correct answer entered in the competition entry form, accompanied by the entrant’s name, email address and a phone number.
  3. No applications from agents, third parties, organised groups or applications automatically generated by computer will be accepted. No incomplete, illegible, or corrupted entries will be accepted. No entries not in accordance with the entry instructions will be accepted.
  4. The Promotion dates are set out out on the competition entry page/description..
  5. A Winner will be drawn at random from the pool of correct entrants received by the Closing Date. Entries received after the closing date are invalid.
  6. Promotion limited to one entry per person. No entrant will win more than one prize.
  7. By submitting an entry to the Promoter, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  8. Responsibility will not be accepted for entries lost, damaged or delayed as a result of any network, computer hardware or software failure of any kind. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt. Entries will become the property of the Promoter.
  9. All prizes will be subject to any additional terms and conditions of the supplier of the prize to the Promoter.
  10. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss, damage or consequential damage of any nature in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise caused by the acceptance of the terms and conditions or in connection with the prize.
  11. Winners will be notified via the email or mobile number provided when entering the Promotion. The winner must claim and receive the prize within 90-days of the closing date or by March 31st, of the following year, whichever is earlier. Prizes not claimed by that date will be forfeited.
  12. Tickets and accommodation prizes Photographic ID  may be required. The winner acknowledges that in the event that the artist does not perform on the relevant date, or that the concert or event does not take place as specified for any reason, or that the venue is closed for any reason, Christmas FM does not accept responsibility in these circumstances and no alternative prize will be provided. Travel and accommodation are not included in any prize unless stated.
  13. Gift cards or vouchers, have no cash value, and will not be replaced if lost or stolen. Valid only in the Republic of Ireland and in the retail outlets listed on the competition entry page. Gift card issuer terms and conditions of use apply and some cards may only be used online.
  14. Your personal data is used for the administration of the competition and may be shared with our third party service providers for the administration of the competition and prize fulfilment. 
  15. Entrants who have entered or opted-in to get more information from Christmas FM (RadioHub) the Christmas FM Privacy Policy applies and you can opt-out by click on the unsubscribe link contained in every email.
  16. Entrants who have opted-in to get more information from the supplier of a prize (a third party) will have their information securely transferred to that third party and will then be subject to their privacy policy.
  17. The decision of the Promoter is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.

  19. The winners name and county may be published on Christmasfm.com and on our social media channels.

  22. Prizes are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

Switch Christmas On Competition

The Switch Christmas On competition (the “Promotion”) is open to entry (or other participation in) by schools who reside on the island of Ireland (32 counties) only, except for employees of the Promoter, their families, employees of any associated companies or agents, and anyone professionally involved with this Promotion. Entry into this Promotion shall be deemed to be a full and unconditional acceptance by the entrant of these Terms and Conditions and the conditions outlined and agreed to on the entry form.  Failure to adhere to these Terms and Conditions may result in disqualification from the Promotion.

  1. Entries will only be accepted from school representatives of 1st, 2nd and 3rd classes in primary school classes on the island of Ireland.  
  2. Entries will only be accepted from school representatives directly involved in the nominated class such as school principals or a class teacher. Entries from parents, individuals or other groups will not be accepted.
  3. Entries will only be accepted through the dedicated form on our website from Sept 2nd to the closing date of 10am GMT 23rd Sept 2024.  All sections of the entry form must be completed – incomplete entries will not be counted.
  4. Only one entry per class – primary schools may enter more than one class as long as it is for 1st, 2nd or 3rd classes – however a separate entry form must be completed for each class.
  5. Entrant declares that they have full permission from the school board or school principal to enter the competition and nominate a classroom.  Entrant further declares they will act as the representative between the class and the promoter should their class be selected as the winner.
  6. The Promoter will determine the number of qualifying entries from entries received and deemed valid by the promoter.  The winning class will be determined by a Christmas FM judging panel.
  7. The winning class will participate in the Photoshoot on location in their classroom – full details will be provided by the promoter.  Dates and details are subject to change.  The winning class and entrant further agrees at no cost to the promoter and their agents to the use of image/likeness/audio/video taken at photoshoot for PR, promotion or other purposes by the promoters or their agents in press, social media outlets, website, and any other outlets in relation to the promotion of this contest at any point in the future.
  8. A waiver will be required to be signed by a guardian/parent of the children from the winning class and the entrant on behalf of the school in advance of the photoshoot.  Those who do not sign the waiver will not be included in the photoshoot or any subsequent events as part of this promotion. The entrant agrees to cooperate fully in ensuring the waiver is distributed to the class and returned to the promoter via an online form which the promoter will supply.
  9. The winning class will be notified via the e-mail address and/or phone number provided on the entry form by the entrant. If we do not receive a response within a set period of time as specified in the message, then an alternative winning class may be chosen at the Promoter’s discretion.
  10. The winning class name can be found by sending an SAE to our postal address as follows: Christmas FM, RadioHub Studios, Clayton Liffey Valley, Fonthill Rd, Dublin 22, D22 X4W6, Ireland and quoting ‘Switch Christmas On winner’. No other correspondence will be entered into concerning the competition and the Promoter’s decision is final.
  11. The Promoter reserves the right to withdraw or amend the Promotion, the times, specifics and dates of the promotion and/or these Terms & Conditions at any stage and in the event of any unforeseen circumstances without notice.  
  12. The Promoter reserves the right to not make use of and to amend/edit/alter any  images/audio/video/content taken at photoshoot. 
  13. The Promoter and their agents accept no responsibility for difficulties experienced in submitting an entry to the Promotion. The Promoter cannot be held responsible for a breakdown in communication systems or networks that might result in an entry not being registered or delivered.
  14. The Promoter reserves the right to exclude any entries which it believes to be fraudulent or based on misconduct. 
  15. Neither the Promoter nor any of its associated or affiliated companies shall be liable to any Participant for any cancellation, discontinuance or delay affecting this Promotion.
  16. The Promoter reserves the right to terminate, alter or temporarily suspend this Promotion in the event of technical or other difficulties or reasons that might arise  that might compromise its integrity.
  17. The Promoter does not accept any liability for costs, outlays, subsistence, loss or damages incurred, or responsibility for any claim, as a result of the acceptance of participation in this competition.
  18. Entrants’ personal data will only be held for the purposes of contacting and confirming participation of the winner and will not be used for any other purposes whatsoever without their prior permission.
€5000 Sponsorship Competition

The €5000 Digital Sponsorship package competition (the “Promotion”) is open to entry by who reside on the island of Ireland (32 counties) only, except for employees of the Promoter, their families, employees of any associated companies or agents, and anyone professionally involved with this Promotion.  Entry into this Promotion shall be deemed to be a full and unconditional acceptance by the entrant of these Terms and Conditions and the conditions outlined and agreed to on the entry form.  Failure to adhere to these Terms and Conditions may result in disqualification from the Promotion.

  1. Entries will only be accepted through the dedicated form on our website before the closing date of November 8th 2024 at 13.00hrs.
  2. Entrants must complete all sections of the application in order to enter the competition – incomplete applications will not be counted.
  3. Only one entry per Company.
  4. The Promoter will determine the number of qualifying entries from entries received and deemed valid by the promoter.  
  5. The winner will be determined by a Christmas FM judging panel.
  6. The winner will be notified via the email address and/or phone number provided on the entry form. If we do not receive a response within a set period of time as specified in the message, then an alternative winner may be chosen at the Promoter’s discretion.
  7. Prize is not transferable.
  8. There are no cash alternatives.
  9. Prize is only valid for use in November/December 2024 at the discretion of the promoter.
  10. The Digital Sponsorship Package Prize will consist of digital sponsorship, at the discretion of the Promoter.  The details of the prize will be confirmed via email sent to the winner and is subject to change.
  11. The winner may be requested to supply design assets including but not limited to images, text, wording or other details for the promoter. The winner acknowledges that in the event that assets requested by the promoter are not supplied by the date outlined in the correspondence, the promoter may not be able to deliver the prize package.  The promoter will not accept responsibility for the prize not being delivered and no alternative prize will be provided.  If the winner does not deliver assets within the timeframe and the manner outlined by the promoter, then the winner will be deemed to have forfeited the prize. 
  12. The promoter does not accept responsibility for any costs the winner may incur to provide assets or details requested by the promoter.
  13. The winner’s name can be found by sending an SAE to our postal address as follows: Christmas Radio Ltd., RadioHub Studios, Clayton Liffey Valley, Fonthill Rd, Dublin 22, D22 X4W6 Ireland and quoting ‘Digital Sponsorship Package Competition’. No other correspondence will be entered into concerning the competition and the Promoter’s decision is final.
