Mark Byrne

About Me:

I’ve had a long career in radio – from humble beginnings in my friends garage with a 50 watt AM transmitter to a very enjoyable time with Sunshine 101, Atlantic 252, Century Radio, FM104 and 98FM.  I loved it all, however I decided to follow another passion in life and became an airline pilot in 2001.  It’s a career I still love today.  No two days are the same and I’ve seen a lot of the world from my office in the sky.  But radio never leaves you!  When I’m not flying, I still do a lot of voice overs (I’m very good at selling tiles!) and I like to have the connection with old colleagues from the Radio world.  I’m delighted to be asked to present this year on Christmas FM – it’s always on in my home in North Co. Dublin.  It’s a great privilege.
