Perfect strolling weather this Christmas

We love good news at Christmas FM and  Met Eireann’s first Christmas day forecast is looking great.

While there are never firm promises with the weather – at the moment they are saying, overall, December is shaping up to be drier than normal.

Which is music to our ears. Think about all those Christmas markets we will be exploring. All those lovely strolls around town soaking up the festive feeling.

We got into the habit of meeting for a walk in the last two pandemic Christmases and what better way to admire all the gorgeous lights.

In week three there will be rain in the south and southeast, but as long as you have the brolly with you you will be grand and things are looking good elsewhere around the country.

It will be a bit colder than usual the second week in December, but all the more reason for ordering that second hot chocolate.

Here is the gist of what they said.

Week 1, November 28 until December 4:

Much drier than recent weeks, as high pressure looks to be the dominant influence . Rainfall is likely to be below average and temperatures slightly above average.

Week 2, December 5 until December 11:

Rainfall much lower than normal for this time of year, though temperatures will possibly dip lower than the average.

Week 3, December 12 until December 18

Rain in the south and southeast will likely be higher than normal, with below average elsewhere.

Week 4, December 18 until December 25

The uncertainty always grows the further ahead into the magic ball you look though, at the moment, rainfall amounts are expected to be lower than normal for the time of year.

Bring it on!!
