About Christmas FM:
We are Ireland’s Christmas Station! ChristmasFM Ireland is a quasi national FM radio station serving Ireland for 30 days each Christmas period and online all year. We operate a unique temporary radio service funded by commercial sponsorship and activities and have a strong focus on fundraising for charity.
In 2024, Christmas FM celebrates 17 years on air. Since 2008, Christmas FM has raised more than €3 million for charities including ISPCC, Barnardos, Dublin Simon Community, Age Action, Aware, Make-A-Wish Ireland, Focus Ireland, Sightsavers, Temple Street Hospital, Barretstown, ALONE and now a host of Children’s charities through the Magic of Christmas Appeal.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media Assistant to join our team on a contract basis from October to December. The ideal candidate will have a diverse skill set to help us enhance our presence on social media platforms including TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram. We need someone who can create engaging content, support sponsor activities (sponsored posts, competitions etc), highlight the work of our charity partners and come up with innovative ways to promote the station.
Key Responsibilities:
- Help to create, edit, and schedule quick and responsive content (static & video) that resonates with our audience.
- Assist with the smooth operation of competitions and giveaways.
- Film and edit video footage for social media content, capturing behind-the-scenes moments, interviews, and other relevant footage.
- Develop new and creative ways to promote Christmas FM and its shows.
- Ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in style and quality, and meets the high standards of Christmas FM.
- Handle administrative tasks including scheduling posts, managing content calendars, and working cross functionally with the wider team to execute campaigns.
Qualifications:
- Excellent understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices.
- Experience using social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram and Facebook.
- Strong skills in creating and editing engaging content.
- Experience in using Canva or similar (additional training will be provided) .
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Must be able to travel to our studio in Liffey Valley and other locations for Outdoor Broadcasts, Vox Pops etc.
