We’re delighted to announce the launch of a new fundraising initiative. ‘The Magic of Christmas’ initiative brings together some of Ireland’s leading children’s charities as the official charity partners for Christmas FM for the next three years.

Christmas FM is aiming to raise over €1,000,000 between 2022 and 2024 for the charities – Barnardos, Barretstown, Make-a-Wish Ireland and The Community Foundation for Ireland.

The funds will go directly towards helping vulnerable children in our communities affected by traumatic life events such as poverty, abuse, neglect and bereavement, and to supporting children whose lives are affected by serious childhood illness. By donating to The Magic of Christmas, you will Give the Gift of Childhood to those who need it most, because every child deserves Magic at Christmas.

Christmas FM will be celebrating its 15th year on air this year when it launches on FM in late November. Since we began broadcasting, the radio station has raised over €3 million for a range of charities. Donations raised for The Magic of Christmas fundraising initiative will be used to provide targeted support for over 10,000 children most in need – with funds distributed between the charity partners Barnardos, Barretstown, Make-a-Wish Ireland and The Community Foundation for Ireland. We aim to build on the success of its fundraising campaigns over the last 15 years, raising awareness for the work of the charity partners and maximising the impact of funds raised.

Garvan Rigby, co-founder of Christmas FM, said:

“Christmas FM has a longstanding reputation as a force for good for Irish charities, raising over €3 million for charity since it was founded. This year, we’re delighted to partner with such amazing charities, Barnardos, Barretstown, Make-a-Wish Ireland and The Community Foundation for Ireland, through The Magic of Christmas initiative to build on this experience and reputation to help support thousands of children throughout Ireland over the next three years.”

Commenting on The Magic of Christmas fundraising initiative, the charity partners jointly said:

“We are delighted to be a part of this exciting collaborative initiative. It’s a great opportunity to work together towards a shared goal, and we’re delighted to be a part of something with so much potential. With the help of Christmas FM listeners, funds raised will ensure we can Give the Gift of Childhood to those who need it most, because every child deserves Magic at Christmas.

The collaborative nature of the Magic of Christmas embodies the spirit of charities in Ireland – by working together we can transform the lives of children and their families. We are urging everyone to support the Magic of Christmas.

Give the Gift of Childhood to those who need it most, because every child deserves Magic at Christmas.
