Our Charity Partner

We are currently reviewing our charity partner selection process and will post here once this process is completed.

The 2021 campaign below has now closed

Each year Christmas FM partners with a charity who becomes our official charity partner for that year. This year it’s the turn of Barnardos.

Christmas FM and Barnardos

Christmas FM wants to “Give the Gift of Childhood” by helping Barnardos change the lives of over 5,000 children living in poverty.

This year, Christmas FM will be raising awareness and funds for Barnardos. We plan to raise €250,000 to help change the lives of 5,000 children living in poverty. Funds raised will be used to provide targeted and intensive support for children most in need – providing nutritious food, support with education, and therapeutic services with our trained support teams.

About Barnardos

Barnardos is Ireland’s leading children’s charity, working to give vulnerable children living in disadvantaged communities a better chance – because childhood lasts a lifetime.

Barnardos is a trauma informed organisation working directly with about 18,000 children and their families every year across our 45 projects.

They work with vulnerable children and families who have been affected by traumatic life events such as abuse, parental mental health, neglect, separation, bereavement & addiction.

They help children and their families to build resilience, to believe in their capacities and to live with hope and positive expectations of and for themselves and their lives.

Their Vision is a country where every child can reach their full potential.

Their Mission is to deliver services and work with families, communities, and our partners to transform the lives of vulnerable children who are affected by adverse childhood experiences.

At Barnardos, they believe that childhood lasts a lifetime and what we experience as children will ultimately shape the adults we become, which is why early intervention is so important in their work.

Suzanne Connolly, CEO of Barnardos – “We are both delighted and humbled to be this year’s charity partner for Christmas FM. Our ‘Give the Gift of Childhood’ campaign has never been more relevant as we have seen vulnerable children and families disproportionality affected by the recent pandemic. Together with Christmas FM and their listeners we hope you’ll join us in raising funds to give the gift of childhood to over 5,000 children most in need this Christmas. Barnardos helps children and their families to build resilience, to believe in their capacities and to live with hope and positive expectations of and for themselves and their lives. We provide warm nutritious meals in our breakfast and after school clubs, we give children a safe environment to play and learn in and we work with families to rebuild family relationships that have been broken. And we work, every day, at the heart of communities to put smiles back on the faces and the light back into the eyes of the most vulnerable children in Ireland – and you can help us by donating today! So tune in and help us give the gift of childhood today, tomorrow and the in the months to come.”
