We're on the hunt for the next big Christmas tune to become the winner of ‘The Kildare Village Christmas FM Song Contest 2023’
Are you a talented songwriter, singer or music fan who has written a festive melody or recorded a cover version of a favourite Christmas hit that could help ‘Switch Christmas On’ across the nation this year? Do you have a Christmassy tune that could spread festive cheer and seasonal goodwill? If so, we want to hear from you!
We’ve unveiled ‘The Kildare Village Christmas FM Song Contest’ for 2023 in a bid to find the next festive song that will sprinkle joy and cheer right around the country. The winning song will have the honour of being broadcast to Christmas FM’s Irish and international fans along with the likes of Christmas legends such as Wham, Mariah Carey and Michael Bublé.
Supporting homegrown talent, entrants from across the island of Ireland are asked to submit their application ahead of the closing date at 1:00pm on Friday 1st December. All you have to do is write and record your very own festive tune or a cover version and fill out the entry form by tapping the ENTER button below
Last year, ‘A Perfect Christmas’ by duo Mulled, was crowned the overall winner. The song was composed by Clare man David Graham and Wicklow man Eoghan O’Sullivan and was a firm favourite among their friends and family for a few years before they entered the Christmas song contest in 2022.
Mulled, winner of the 2022 Christmas FM Song Contest, say:
“It was a genuine thrill to have our song played alongside all the well-known classics. It was also lovely to get messages from friends and relations who heard it on air in the days running up to Christmas. We’d encourage our fellow songwriters to give it a shot – it’s a fun challenge and can lead to valuable exposure.”
