Christmas FM – Charities across Ireland

Childhood can be a happy, uncomplicated time. It can lay the foundation for the rest of a person’s life but sadly sometimes children in Ireland can be dealt an unfair hand.

Sickness, poverty and other traumatic experiences can darken the early years. Every child deserves a happy childhood  – this is the driving belief behind Christmas FM’s three-year fundraising initiative The Magic of Christmas appeal.

Funds raised in 2022 – 2024 will go directly towards helping vulnerable children in our communities affected by traumatic life events such as poverty, abuse, neglect and bereavement, and to supporting children whose lives are affected by serious childhood illness.

By donating to The Magic of Christmas appeal you will Give the Gift of Childhood to those who need it most, because every child deserves Magic at Christmas.

The Magic of Christmas appeal brings together some of Ireland’s best known Children’s charities – Barnardos, Barretstown, Make-A-Wish Ireland and The Community Foundation for Ireland – to raise over €1 million in between 2022-2024 for children who need it most

In 2022 almost €300,000 was raised for The Magic of Christmas Appeal.

Barnardos

Funds raised will go directly towards their work with vulnerable children living in disadvantaged communities across Ireland.

Barretstown

The support of the Magic of Christmas and Christmas FM listeners this year will allow Barretstown to serve even more children and families living with serious illness in 2023.

Make-a-Wish Ireland

The funds raised and shared through Christmas FM with Make-A-Wish will go towards granting truly memorable wishes for children and their families.

Community Foundation Ireland

Each year your donations help a range of children’s charities around Ireland with a local, community focus through Community Foundation Ireland.

From encouraging creativity in children who may not otherwise get to explore this, to providing nursing in their homes for very sick children, so much good was done last year.

These Charities received a grant in 2023 – Cancer Fund for Children, Sensational Kids, Doras, BUMBLEance, Jack and Jill, Helium Arts and the Bluestack Foundation.

Commenting on The Magic of Christmas fundraising initiative, the charity partners jointly said:

“We are delighted to be a part of this exciting collaborative initiative. It’s a great opportunity to work together towards a shared goal, and we’re delighted to be a part of something with so much potential. With the help of Christmas FM listeners, funds raised will ensure we can Give the Gift of Childhood to those who need it most, because every child deserves Magic at Christmas.

The collaborative nature of the Magic of Christmas embodies the spirit of charities in Ireland – by working together we can transform the lives of children and their families. We are urging everyone to support the Magic of Christmas. Give the Gift of Childhood to those who need it most, because every child deserves Magic at Christmas.
